New homes, new eco store, new filling station, new extra care facilities for the elderly.

S Harrison is a Yorkshire development company with a great track record of making things happen in North Yorkshire. We have exciting plans for Whitby.

Whitby needs a supermarket, it needs a petrol filling station and it also desperately needs new affordable homes for local people, and extra care facilities for the elderly.

The sisters at the Order of the Holy Paraclete have offered their land at High Stakesby to provide all this, and more. We have brought together Tesco and Broadacres Housing Association to help meet those needs.

We recently put our proposals to the Council for consideration but despite our strong case for development and significant support from the people of Whitby (more people supported our store plans than supported either of the other two options - 48% of people polled by the Whitby Gazette preferred our scheme) - the council rejected our proposals.  We strongly believe in the merit of our proposals and are currently studying the council's decision before deciding our plans for the future of the site.
